Hello Friends of Liberté, I would like to explain why I chose the name Liberté for this new venture. Liberté is pronounced “Lee-Ber-Tay” in English and has an acute accent (é) on the final letter. It is obviously a French name, which is only natural since I am from Embrun, a small French-Ontarian community. The word simply means freedom. When I complete a long activity like a marathon or an ultra-marathon, it seems like the last kilometer or mile never arrives soon enough. I am having the same feeling with the redesign of Liberté’s logo. Because I still work every day for a employer, I can only afford a few hours every day to work on Liberté tasks. So each day, for the past few days, I create a different version of a logo, with different colors, style and come back the next day to find myself not satistied with the previous day’s outcome. I identified the fact that I am in the final process of retrofitting a 1962 vintage Airtsream Overlander. This process involves a lot of work and basically taking the entire trailer apart, called a shell-off restoration, and replace everything but the exterior shell. I believe that in order for Liberté to be successful in the caravan renting space, its core product should be designed for renters. The problem with current camping trailer designs is that they are not suited for first time users. Eventually, all rv owners learn how to use their units but it does take a few times to learn how to set up and prepare for safe towing. There are lots of ways to market a new product or service. My goal is to make it fun for me. So why not combine fun social events with getting the message out there about Liberté. I envision outdoor social gatherings of different forms and types with invitation to a network of people that will hopefully grow over time. For example, I see a tailgate party on a Friday night at Carleton University after the running room speed workout classes. I also see a social beer tasting at a micro brewery where 2-3 Liberté’s are parked outside and hosting different

So I booked a date, Friday May 3rd, as an official launch date for this website. Since Liberté will first launch in the Ottawa and Montreal areas, I am focusing my marketing to physical events through peers, friends and family. So we will see how a wine and cheese event will work. What is the worst that can happen, I run out of cheese, or that I have excess wine. These don’t seem like a big risk. So I need to get the website ready. I am not a design person ( the mechanical engineer and project manager in me)
