On a beautiful winter day, this past Saturday, January 25, we took the SNØ out for its maiden voyage to the Larose Forest. We parked there for 4 hours to offer free hot chocolate to outdoor enthusiasts in exchange for a tour and feedback of our arctic caravan. The feedback from these cross-country skiers, fat bike, and snowshoe enthusiasts was quite positive. Many saw the potential of staying warm and comfortable during winter conditions at a time when all other camping trailers are in storage. On October 19, 2024, over one hundred people were present to witness the birth of a new type of arctic caravan at its official opening in Limoges, Ontario. In the presence of Nation Township municipal councillors Dan Boisvenue and Alain Manville, his employees, family and friends, and over one hundred local participants, President and Founder Eric Bazinet officially cut the ribbon and opened its business and its brand new production and showroom facility. Hello Friends of Liberté, I would like to explain why I chose the name Liberté for this new venture. Liberté is pronounced “Lee-Ber-Tay” in English and has an acute accent (é) on the final letter. It is obviously a French name, which is only natural since I am from Embrun, a small French-Ontarian community.The word simply means freedom. L’objectif de mon entreprise est de rapprocher les gens de la nature et des autres. My last blog was a few months ago in January and I want to share with you where we are at with Liberté since a lot has been happening. The first and most important thing that was accomplished since the last blog was getting a team together. We are now 6 part time team members and we have been busy with building the prototype for approximately 20-25 hrs per week since early February. On top of that, several new external partnerships have been established with suppliers of components such as composites, metal, safety equipment, welders and other tools and caravan
The last several months has been a blast and now it is time to get ready for the real stuff…building the first prototype. The intent is not to build the perfect caravan but to test production techniques and validate the overall look and feel of what we designed. We are in final stages of engineering and getting the right team together. I realize that I need help to take on this task. The first and foremost is to assemble the right build team members.
